The middle of Labor Day Weekend, perfect time for knitting and letting the day pass sweetly by. Almost done with a scrappy pair of socks for me…this will be pair #18 so far this year! The thermal stitch sweater is 3” below the arm hole shaping. I’m making slower progress because of the stitch pattern […]
What’s a knitter to do…? Finished the linen LoveNote (as in, the actual knitting is done…however fading required some yarn management and now there are ENDS to weave in <sigh> so many ENDS!) and I.can’t. stand.it. The only thing on the needles are my purse/tv socks. Swatch time! I have the absolutely dreamy Debbie Bliss […]
Purse knitting makes the time go so quick! Unless it doesn’t, but that’s a yarn-tail for another day. Yesterday was my husband’s 6 month screening day, so wait at the imaging center, wait at the lab, wait in the Dr’s lobby, wait in the exam room. And….we have socks: Leftover Timber Yarns self striping with […]
A little bit of fluff to show… Based on the Gno Fun Like Gnome Fun pattern with random bits of this and that. Making progress in Starflanket… 4’ diameter, shown. Now that I’ve finished the brioche, I’m back to striping blue/grey/green, doing short rows in the blue and green sections to add back the star […]
It looks like I’m having fun with this…SMH. Thinking about March….leprechaun….green….hmmm. Working the brioche section of Starflanket with colors A and B….feels like it is taking forever. Each round is 576 stitches…so completing the two passes is O.M.G. 1152 stitches……what? Next challenge will be after the short rows to add back the points to the […]
The brioche section’s inc/dec for the star’s ‘peaks and valleys’ was just too open. So….knit rip knit rip…..redesigned….alternating colors C and D, created short row sections to even out the circle. With color C or D, pick up stitches from one point to the next so RS maintains k stitches, initial sections requires an additional […]
January gnomes are finished and so much fun! Taller gnome has 4 beads at the point of the hat and a crocheted snowflake decoration. Smaller gnome’s hat is missing the two duplicate pattern repeats, braids instead of a beard and joined hands. Thinking about February….
Winter’s arrival gives me more knitting time! I’m a knitter, I’ve trained for this….so true! January Gnome #2 has half a hat! Mike loves apple pie….proper crust to fruit ratio, of course – SMH. For someone who doesn’t cook he likes to be really opinionated about what he eats, I just roll my eyes! Baker […]
