As the weather turns cooler I definitely want to knit warmer things! I finished my All the Love in 8 days…it’s blocked and modeled (with the ends still sticking out). Playing yarn chicken necessitated short sleeves and a slightly shorter body but it is so soft I’m looking forward to wearing it! My first gift […]
Well today is Wednesday….All the Love has been on the needles four days. (At 7am today doesn’t count!) I’m already 3+ inches past the arm hole join! This cashmere blend is so soft! Gotta get a round in before getting ready for work… Happy Knitting!
Local Yarn Store day got me! The bamboo and Pima cotton are for now. I will dream fabulous smooshy-cashmere dreams until late fall! My drift sweater is blocking. Photos and all the details to come. So…..of course I’ve started something new! This is Snowflake by TinCanKnits in Elsebeth Lavoisier Silky Wool -Mallard. If you […]
This is Drift, she’s a pullover by Kristen Finlay in Sueno in the Bowl of Raspberries Tonal colorway. She’s been my constant companion all week, in the car at stop-lights, on my lunch break, in the car with my best man taking a drive, at home in the evening…we’ve been faithful, and now we are […]
I still can’t believe it! I knit all the way through sections 3 and 4 on my On The Spice Market shawl. As I wrote out the instructions for sections 5 and 6….I discovered a massive error in my transcribing! In three places in section 4 I wrote – and knit – kfb – when […]
Started the fabulous On The Spice Market shawl on March 4th…section 3 hand me confused until I just started knitting it, wow…! The yarn is Hippo for Mardi Gras 2018, plus the minis that go with it, on 3.25mm needles. I’m not sure I like all the garter stitch that is coming off the needles […]
My best man decided we should do brunch at the suggestion of a co-worker. Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill….was awesome! The staff was warm and wonderful, the food was creative and executed perfectly and the site itself was really nice. If the weather had been better we could have eaten outside, there is also a […]
Progress… My Sandhurst Pullover is done and worn! It only took about 4 weeks to knit…on and off. But, since I finished in winter…catching a bit of bright daylight to weave in ends was scarce so took a bit more time to actually be wearable than I would have liked. The yarn is so soft. […]
NYC daughter’s mitts are finished. I could say I planned the color patterning this way…but, miraculously the yarn decided to fade from dark to light in just the right way for the second one so they are almost identical. They are snug on me, so will fit my mini-me perfectly! I made this pattern up, […]
This first pair of 2018 is out of what I consider my vanilla sock pattern (below)…I think every knitter has their own go to, this one is mine. I really enjoyed knitting this pair out of Old Oak Yarns in their Hardwood Sock Base, 75/25, 100g – 453, 32g remain for darning or some other […]
